Biography

Zelda hails from a small town in a valley hiding in the southern reaches of Appalachia. She wended her way North to attend NYU's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, where she majored in Drama, studying at Playwrights Horizons Theater School and Stonestreet Studios, and minored in Creative Writing.

Post-college, Zelda worked with a variety of theater companies, and even went on to co-found one of her own: Hip Obscurity. Theater companies Zelda has been lucky enough to work with include The Shakespeare Forum, Snorks & Pins Productions, The GRIT Theater Co., Mir Productions, DramaTune, Misfit Toys, and Instant Shakespeare Rep.

As a writer, Zelda has had four of her one-acts produced in New York, including Evidence, which played at Theatre Row as part of the largest solo show festival in the world, United Solo. Her collection of poetry and short fiction,This Is What They Made It Out Of, is available for purchase on kindle. She currently maintains two blogs - one largely consisting of theater reviews, the other of revisiting beloved television series, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars and Angel - and is in the process of adapting Evidence into a web series. She and her father, Distinguished Professor Raymond Knapp, have collaborated on several articles on musical theater.
