On May 15th, I will be participating in a reading of Layla and Bob by James McCreary and Murat Gulcelik, as part of Writopia Lab's Worldwide Play Festival, which receives a grant from David Letterman and Worldwide Pants. The reading will held, along with six other short plays, on May 15th at 6PM at 59E59. I hope to see you there!
I am thrilled to announce that Dan Sallitt's THE UNSPEAKABLE ACT, my first feature-length film, will be screened at BAM as part of the BAMcinemaFest 2012! The festival is June 20 - July 1st. I'll update when I have the official screening date.
UPDATE: The Unspeakable Act won the Best Film award on April 21st in the Independent Visions competition at the Sarasota Film Festival!
The Unspeakable Act's synopsis, per The L Magazine: "Jackie's romantic feelings for her brother Matthew form the unlikely backdrop against which the milestones of adolescence—choosing a college, losing one's virginity—unspool in film critic Sallitt's long-awaited directorial return, an unnervingly dispassionate take on the last taboo, set in Brooklyn's Ditmas Park."
